Our City Radio Featured Artist: Eclipse
Singer/Songwriter, Eclipse aka Ingrid Smith, began her career performing with a band for the American Forces at military bases and clubs throughout Europe and the Near East. A German native, Ingrid relocated to the United States several years ago to work with Frank Starchak, an award winning producer from Deltona Records Recording Studio in Deltona, Florida to create the album, “Heaven Amongst Us”.
Eclipse’s unique style brings a twist to EDM and Transcendence Pop with stories from her own experiences, dreams, and desires. Her influences range from R&B, EDM, and Ballads from the 1960’s to the 1990’s. Eclipse also collaborates with many different artists to promote herself in the visual as well as audio departments of the industry.
Back In The Music Business
“I don’t sacrifice. I haven’t done it in the past and I will not do it in the future. There is always something healthy in between as long as the producers and studios know where you as an artist are coming from, nothing can really go wrong. If one door closes, a window opens. I know my style, I know what I want to sing, I know people, and I am not afraid!” - Eclipse
Eclipse’s favorite shows were when she was with the band. She did many imitations and impersonations of famous singers such as, Michael Jackson and his dance routines. She’s “the funny one” and likes to clown around on stage. Eclipse believes music is enjoyment and a way to be creative, not just the same old rehearsal. Listen to Eclipse’s, “Wish We Could Fly”!
The most important thing to Eclipse is the joy of creating music. As an unsigned artist, Eclipse knows making it “big” in the music industry might make you financially better off, but it means nothing if your music doesn’t involve passion with a message. Many musicians are discovered and forgotten within a year and to make it “big” is really an illusion, especially with the music labels controlling every aspect of an artist. Eclipse rather become a legend in the industry with her eclectic sounds than make it “big” at the moment by being controlled by a company that is all about making the bucks.
