Superfly Crew found it’s beginnings in the fertile crescent of adult beverages and social gatherings at The University of South Florida. The Legendary Eddie Machete (AKA Tampa Baller Eddie) dubbed the band with the moniker, “Superfly Crew” after the funk found its way through the walls of Palm Lake Apartments to the home of Kevlar, where the bastard music child was born. After many shows, house parties, poolside jams, 15 years and over 2000 shows later, the group still stands strong. Check out their classic video, “Represent”!

Over the years numerous musicians have jammed in the crew, current members include, Eddie Rodriguez -vocals/guitar, Kev Purcell- lead guitar/vocals, Chris Cote – vocals, C. Pope – vocals/percussion, Trevor Dodson- bass/guitar, Tony Frasca – percussion/drums, & Rick Ranalli – drums.

Superfly Crew’s Mission

The Superfly Crew is here to issue a statement to all, “Our music is no longer just recreation and leisure designed to support the enthusiasm of the listener. Our art is an obligation to save the world from tyranny of controlling factions that wish to divide the population!” – Chris Cote

“Stay Positive and Love Life!” That’s the motto we live by. The band aims to unify the masses with our live performances and improvisational jams, one show at a time. The best way to spread a conscious message and bring forth peace will always be through the live creation of music! – Kev Purcell

Their combined history of street music, experimental Zappa-esque guitars, roots rock, American standards, and power ballads is a balance of human nature called, “Superfly Crew”. They create good old party jams, Southern Fried Beach Music, Hip-hop beats with lyrical mastery, and we even produced EDM tracks.
